Have you ever heard of a paper florist? Have you ever seen the amazing works of art that they can create? If not, man are you missing out! Read on to learn about Dani and her friggin' amazing business!!
Dani and I found each other on Instagram. Lo' and Behold, this amazing artist lived and worked only a short distance from my own home base, and was creating an empire herself. Out of My Bloomin' Mind provides high-end, realistic flower alternatives for home decor (and even bridal bouquets)! Her sentiment being, why pay for temporary beauty when you can have it for long term--In her words: "Not all flowers fade." Naturally we got together to make some personal branding magic happen right here in good ol' NEPA!
Dani creates these masterpieces literally petal-by-petal. Not only utilizing the colors of crepe paper in their natural state, but also painting and coloring them in the process to be as realistic as possible. Time consuming, yes, but so so worth it!
FOR REAL, LOOK AT THIS PROCESS:
Getting to know Dani along our journey working together was awesome. Not only is she a great artist, and a perfectionist like myself haha, but she is a great human being as well. She holds her family in the highest regard, is a Pitbull Advocate and Rescuer, and supports many of us other small business owners. A country girl with some "foreign" flare, she proved to be a delight to work with for sure!
I seriously wish her the best in every endeavor and hope to work with her again in the future. I designed this shoot on some family property taking into consideration her brand, her clientele, and who she is as a person herself. It was so much fun!
Thanks for reading along and taking an interest in my continued journey as a Personal Branding Photographer. As always, if I can answer any questions about ANYTHING, feel free to shoot me a message or give me a call.

Educator, Fine Art Photographer, Speaker, Illustrator, Course Developer, Graphic Designer, Author, Mom, Wife, Daughter, Cat Lover...and the list goes on!
Sue is the Founder of Luckychair, (WEB DESIGN, LOGOS & ILLUSTRATION, and GRAPHIC DESIGN), and Sue Jenkins Photography; She is also Employed by Marywood University as an Assistant Professor!
It is a no-brainer why Sue would need a Branding Photography session for her crazy busy life! Here is the thing about your online presence: It needs to be clear, relevant, and up-to-date. In order to be looked at as an expert--as the go-to person in your field--you need to SHOW UP. And beyond showing up, you need to STAND OUT.
What is it that makes you unique? How can you answer the question: "Why you?"
A PBP session doesn't have to take an entire day to get you the variety you need. Sue and I covered 3 of her many stories in just a couple hours in Scranton, PA.
Here's how that is accomplished...PLANNING.
Once you book with me, I send out a questionnaire to get to know you and your business/cause, and then I do bulk of the planning for you. Once I get the main themes, ideas, and locations figured out, I come back to you and ask for input and any other ideas you may have beyond what I have come up with to propel your story forward and strengthen your brand. Allowing you to sit back, relax, and feel confident that your session will rock and be just what you were needing.
I know what you are thinking..."Valerie, what in the world are you talking about??" Bare with me. I worked alongside an amazing business woman, wife, mother, and entrepreneur recently. Dawn Hansen is a public adjuster (^description in photo from our session above^) in the Northeast PA area. She came to me wanting new photos to showcase and explain to her future clients, what it is she actually does for them.
In her field, it is hard to explain to everyone the laundry list of duties it is she can do for them. (Let me tell you, it is a lot! That woman is a superhero when it comes to Insurance Claims!) So, we took the time to work together to come up with a small sampling of images for her branding that she could use on her website and social media that shined some light on the process.
Insurance adjusting sounds boring and like something I would never want to consider. However, after listening to Dawn, learning her work story, and seeing first hand how she can benefit others, I am happy to have this new knowledge!
I had a great time with that and I didn't even get to mention yet how great it was getting to know her one-on-one!
That's the thing about personal branding--it isn't just about what you do or who you are trying to reach. It is about you as a person. Who you are. And I LOVE getting to know people! Here's the catch though to why I brought this up. It would be fantastic to take on clients that I can continue to grow with, learn about, and from.
I am looking to attract branding clients in the NEPA region and further who will trust me to grow with them and continue to document their on-going stories for their marketing and social sharing continually. It's a win-win for both of us.
You don't have to continue to look for a professional to trust to create the content you need. I don't have to continue to look for new clients and invest so much time into learning their business and life all for it to end at the end of a one-off session. Both of us save time, money, and headaches!
This was a sneaky double-edged post today, but I have to tell you guys what I am up to along with my goals! My clients open up to me, it is only fitting that I open up to the world as well ;)
Hi all! Quick post today as I am getting back into the swing of things from a recent surgery. This is a recent educational hand-out/guide I provided to local, NEPA business owners during a Personal Branding Presentation in the Scranton area. Take a read and ponder my points on the branding idea. If you have any questions, I would love to answer them!!

Hi Everyone! Last week was so fun: Trish Kozola, of Images by Trish, hiked her way up from outside of Philly to work with me. I got to know Trish and her sister through the few hours we worked together last Wednesday and it was a hoot.
I would love to share some of the images I captured of her "working," hanging with her sister, and doing what she does a lot for business and pleasure-enjoying her awesome Mini Cooper!
Hey guys (& gals)!
I wanted to stop in here and share with you some images from a recent shoot I did.
I met Sue through Facebook. She is a photographer from Nevada, but was going to be on the East Coast for a few days. We decided to set something up in nearby New York City and I was able to capture some images she could use for her business.
Sue specifically wanted images of her taking photos of her client. No Problem! I also gave her a variety of environmental "headshots" to use for marketing as well. It was great being her own little paparazzi! This is just a small sampling of the images I provided Sue.
I really can't wait for my next Personal Branding client! There is so much value in having authentic images to show your audience and potential customers.
I know this is a short blog post, but I'll be back sooner than later with some more tidbits for you all! Until then...
Have a good night!
So, this past Monday I traveled to NYC with my best friend, Rachel, to swap branding sessions with a fellow photographer. While I will have more on that soon, first I wanted to share with everyone this cute restaurant: Ella Kitchen & Bar @ 249 Columbus Ave, New York, NY 10023.
We were in the car for 4.5 hours. 2.5 in driving to get to the city, and 2 in looking for parking. Yes. 2 hours. To find parking. I was going out of my mind!! FINALLY we found something, and guess what...It was FREE! So we gathered our belongings and set out to find a restroom and lunch. We ended up with brunch. Rachel and I both ordered the Egg and Cheese Croissants. They were amazing, and even came with fries and a salad.
This establishment was soooo cozy! I sat on an elevated bench decorated with little pillows on the back wall. (I wish I took a photo of that too.) It has a Latin and Mediterranean atmosphere and menu, with vegan options to boot. The dining room wall was decorated with an array of mirrors in various shapes and sizes:
So, basically, if you are on the west side of Central Park and in need of some light, affordable fare, stop in! The waitstaff was courteous and prompt and the food was great. Don't pass this eatery up, and look for this entrance in the midst of your usual city storefronts:
How exciting! I have jumped into the blogging community! I hope I can be engaging and pass along some great information to everyone who happens upon my sweet corner of the inter-web!
So let's not dilly-dally. (But, you can give me a "Dilly, Dilly" if you so choose!!)
You may be asking, "What is Personal Branding Photography?" I would love to talk about it with you!
This is a service that may interest:
Personal Brand Photography works with the sole focus being YOU, and GROWING your reach. With custom, personalized images from the stories of your life, for use in conjunction with your everyday branding/marketing, you can shape the way your viewers recognize, see, and connect with you.
People love to do business with other human beings. So how do you convey that authentic appeal?
You become your own public image. Bare your soul, show the real you. Personal Branding Photography is more than a headshot. It is a window into who You are and what You are about. Not only that, but it is a session catered to you needs in business (we can talk about that in length more specifically later).
With images that can be used on social media and in marketing, and a library of your own curated photos, gone will be the unoriginal stock images and cookie cutter mindset. Instead, your audience will see who you are behind the scenes and what drives you. You WILL connect with more people.
Now I can't legally say you'll get xx,xxx many followers on your social media accounts or increase your revenue by $xx,xxx, but I can say this kind of service will speak for itself. You'll see.
